1928: Founding
FRAKO is founded in Frankfurt as the "Frankfurter Kondensatorenfabrik," laying the foundation for innovative energy solutions.
1949: Start of Capacitor Production
Production begins for capacitors used in fluorescent lighting and power capacitors.
1975: Introduction of the Reactive Power Controller
FRAKO develops the first electronic reactive power controller, enabling a one-stop solution of both controller and capacitor.
1984: Capacitor Technology
Introduction of the FRAKO LKI power capacitor, PCB-free and with an overpressure tear-off safety feature, setting new standards for safety and durability.
1992: Pioneer in Energy Management
Launch of the first energy management system, designed to optimize energy consumption in industrial and commercial sectors.
1995: Patent for Spring Clamp Technology
FRAKO patents the first screwless connection component with spring clamp technology for power capacitors.
1998: Dynamic Compensation
Successful launch of dynamic compensation systems with thyristor switches for heavy industry.
1999: Introduction of the FRAKO LKT
Launch of the "dry" high-performance LKT capacitor, replacing the previous liquid-impregnated LKI. Certified to ISO 14001.
2002: Introduction of the FRAKO C-Module
The C-Module, a universal solution for almost all control cabinet systems, is introduced, replacing numerous different module types.
2012: International Certification
FRAKO’s internal energy management system is certified to ISO 50001, and the LKT capacitors receive UL certification, securing market access in North America.
2015: Patent for Unique Contact Technology
Introduction of a patented contact technology for power capacitors.
2016: Launch of the Power Quality Controller PQC
A reactive power controller with enhanced operational security and power quality monitoring capabilities.
2017: Industry 4.0 with Power Quality Manager PQM 1588
Introduction of the PQM 1588, supporting the Industry 4.0 transition through modern communication protocols like OPC UA.
2020: Product Line Expansion
